Anderson

Also Present:

James E. Norman, City Administrator
Community Development Director Cindy Sherman

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Gamec called the Comprehensive Plan Work Session to order at 5:47 p.m.

Community Development Director Sherman showed examples of the Regency Pond subdivision.

Mayor Gamec recessed the work session at 5:55 p.m. in order to conduct the closed session with
the City Attorney and James Thompson, attorney from Kennedy and Graven, to discuss the Jack
Miller lawsuit.

Mayor Gamec reconvened the work session at 6:24 p.m.

Ms. Sherman showed examples of more subdivisions which showed the number of units per
acre.

Councihnember Hendriksen stated that the Comp Plan shows a dramatic increase in density.

Referring to the Plan: V~21 - deals with densities. Council and staff talked about how
calculations are done with regard to roads, etc.

Councilmember Hendriksen felt that we are going to submit a comp plan to the Met Council and
they will tell us what is wrong with it, so he did not have a problem with sending to them exactly
what we want. We want information that is consistent with our urban area, being no more dense
than we are accustomed to - other than the town homes.

It was noted that townhomes are medium density. Four units per acre is low density, medium
density would be six units per acre and high density would be 10.

City Council Work Session/May 24, 1999
