WORK SESSION <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, December 7, 1999, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Member Absent: Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />City engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Dennis Eyler, SRF <br />Jim Dvorak, SRF <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />#1: T.H. #47 Improvement Project <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that he asked Mr. Jankowski to contact SRF to give some <br />history of the T.H. #47 project since January 1999, for the new C°uncilmembers. <br /> <br />Denny Eyler presented highlights. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if there was a plan for T.H. #47 from C.R. #116 north to a <br />point south of C.R. #5, about l0 years ago that was stopped by the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Eyler was not sure. <br /> <br />Traffic volumes were discussed and the fact that it is becoming very congested at an accelerated <br />rate. The traffic count is generally above average. Where traffic lights would be warranted was <br />talked about. Access points were looked at and noted that they are a "hot topic". The accident <br />rate has to do with the number of accesses per mile.
