ORDINANCE NO. 03 -03 <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 2 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS <br />KNOWN AS THE "COUNCIL, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS" CHAPTER OF THE CITY <br />CODE. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.02 and 2.03 OF THE CITY CODE WHICH <br />SECTIONS ARE ENTITLED "ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY," AND <br />"BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS," RESPECTIVELY <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Subsection 2.02.01, "Establishment" of Chapter 2 of the City Code is replaced by the following <br />text: <br /> <br />2.02.01 <br /> <br />Establishment <br /> <br /> Subd. 1 Establishment. The City of Ramsey hereby establishes the <br />Ramsey Economic Development Authority (the "EDA"). The EDA shall be governed by a board <br />of commissioners consisting of the seven members of the City Council, and the term of each <br />commissioner of the EDA shall coincide with that commissioner's term of office as a member of <br />the City Council. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Purpose. The primary purpose of the Economic Development <br />Authority is to further the economic development of Ramsey and vicinity; to aid, assist and <br />promote the growth, expansion and development of business and industrial concerns, including <br />small business concerns in said area and thereby to contribute to the economic well-being of the <br />area as measured by increased employment, payroll, business volume, tax base and <br />corresponding factors. The Economic Development Authority shall: <br /> <br />Review state legislation and local ordinances in order to determine these <br />regulations' impact of local economic development. The Authority shall <br />advise the City Council of new legislation and ordinances it would like to <br />see adopted and/or amendments to the same which it feels will promote <br />economic development. <br /> <br />Meet with and explore with local developers and business people to learn <br />their concerns and receive their input as to how the economic climate can be <br />improved. The Authority shall call upon and meet with elected and <br />appointed state and local officials along with other appropriate resources it <br />deems necessary in order to accomplish its purposes. <br /> <br /> <br />
