<br /> <br /> <br />i <br />d <br />1" <br /> <br />,,] <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />Council / May 24, 1976 <br /> <br /> <br />i ' , ". , <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on May 24, 1976, at <br />Ramsey Elementary School Music Room, 15600 Nowthen Boulevard, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Gorham <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilwoman 01 iphant <br />Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: Clerk-Treasurer Walker <br />Attorney Goodrich <br />Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />.> <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cox at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pledge of allegiance was led by Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />Agenda. Motion by Councilman G~rham, seconded by Councilman Mickelson to <br />approve the agenda with additions as indicated. <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Citizen Input. Mrs. Ann Brock asked City Attorney Goodrich about her <br />neighbor's septic system-the question was placed on the agenda later on <br />in the meeting. <br /> <br />The Council deferred approval of the minutes until later on in the meeting <br />after the break. Councilman Gorham didn't receive his copy of the minutes <br />prior to the meeting. The Council indicated to Clerk-Treasurer Walker <br />that they would like to have a copy of the minutes as soon as possible <br />after the meetings. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Letters & Communications. <br />Department dated 5/17/76, <br />operations read and noted <br />in the meeting. <br /> <br />A letter from Anoka County Comprehensive Health <br />reference renewal application for landfill <br />and the item pl aced on the agenda for 1 ater on <br /> <br />Old Business. The petition for asphalt paving for Xkimo and Waco Streets <br />South :of153rd St'reet was discussed. .' Mr. William Schiferli was present <br />and Engineer Raatikkainformed him that the estimated cost per homeowner <br />would be $1350.00. Mr. Schiferliwill take this information back to the <br />people that signed the petition. No otHer action, at this time. An informal <br />public hearing date ontheasphalt pavirigwas discussed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Gorham, to hold an <br />informal public hearing on the petition for asphalt paving on Xkimo and <br />Waco Streets South of 153rd on June 14tH at 6:30 p.m. <br />Carried 5 toO <br /> <br />Revenue Sharing Funds . Motion by Reimann seconded by Mickel son to use the <br />all ocationof Revenue Sharing Funds of $22,041 for mul ti-purpose and General <br />Government. Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Intersection of County 5 and State Hi ghway 47. , <br />Mayor Cox requested Mr. Walker to ascertain if the State Highway Commission <br />has done anything about a turning lane tb eliminate the hazardous condition <br />of this intersection. He expressed great cdncern about the dangers of <br />this intersection and that a person had already been killed there. <br /> <br />Septic system at 15230 Kangaroo Street NW. Discussion took place on what <br />could be done to abate the situation. Mr. Walker to order the residence <br />to open up the septic system for inspection and take the necessary steps <br />to ,eliminate the condition.' <br /> <br />.., <br /> <br />New Bu~iness Reilley Estates Final Plat. Mr: Robert Neary, requested <br />a six month extension on Reilley Estates 1, 2, and 3. <br /> <br />A discussion was held between the Council and Mr. Neary relative to the <br />request. Motion by Councilman Gorham, seconded by Councilman Mickelson <br />to grant a six month extension to Reilley Estates 1. 2, and 3 starting <br />April.14, 1976, with the understanding that any portion of the plat <br />that is not final i zed' by,theexpi ration datewoul d at that time be <br />subject to the exi!sting . zoning ordinance. <br />
