<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />-'~J. <br />C/April 26, 1976 <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITr COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the City Council was held on April 26, 1976, at <br />Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen Boulevard, Ramse~ MN 55303. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Gorham <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilwoman Oliphant <br />Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: Clerk-Treasurer Walker <br />Attorney Goodrich <br />Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Cox at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda. <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, se<tonded by Councilman Mickelson to approve <br />the agenda. <br /> <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Citizen Input. No input. <br /> <br />Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting, April 12, 1976. <br />Motion by Councilwoman Oliphant, seconded 6y Cduncilman Reimann to approve <br />the minutes of the April 12, 1976, meeting witH the following correction. <br />To include the address of the City Hall, 14100 St. Francis Boulevard <br />in paragraph one (1) page three (3) ref: Board of Review. <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Approval of the minutes of the special meetin~ April 19, 1976. <br /> <br />Moti on by Councilman Gorham, seconded by Cbunci 1 man Mi ckel son to approve <br />the minutes of April 19, 1976, special meetinq. <br />Carri ed5 to 0 <br /> <br />Flag contest winners. <br />Mrs. Mel James, Chairman of the Bicentennial Committee discussed the judging <br />of the flag contest. The entries were judges on the outline of the entry, <br />rivers and streams, the name II Ramsey II used and of historical data and colors <br />used. The entries were also numbered and judged' by numbers and not the <br />name of the entrant. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox presented the prizes to the three winners. <br /> <br />Steve Johnson, 1st Place, $100.00 savings bond donated by Ron Jerich. <br />Timm Reimann, 2nd Place, bicycle donated by Mayor Arnold Cox. <br />Charlette Enfield, 3rd Place, $25.00 savings bdnd donated by the 1st National <br />Bank of Anoka. <br /> <br />Grace Lynch, Anoka County Community Action Program. <br />Ms. Lynch explained some of the programs that the Anoka County Community <br />Action Program is working on. One is anew program for Senior Citizens to <br />same money and conserve energy during the winter months. The program <br />winterizes residences for the over 60 age qroup up to $350.00 per house and <br />this could save up to 40% of the average fuel bill. Also, the action program <br />will help in the food stamp program. It is an excellent program and Councilman <br />Reimann suggested that we post flyers on the City's bulletin boards and at <br />G-1ty Hall and also summarize the program in a newsletter. <br /> <br />Tree Sale. <br />Councilmarr--Reimann reported that the annual -Spring tree sale w.ill be held <br />SaturdaYi~ May 8th from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.,~t the City Hall, Prices <br />wi 11 be posted at the City office. <br /> <br /> <br />") <br />
