<br />. <br /> <br />PRO<EEDImS OF CITY COUNCIL <br />BOARD OF AlXJUSTMENT <br />roBLIC HEARING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANORA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Board of Adjustment public hearing was oonducted on Tuesday, July 23, 1985 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Mimesota <br />regarding M & S Developnent t s request for a variance fran side-yard setback. <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />~rs Present: Councilmember Jean Schlueter, Olairperson <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmanber Arnie Cox <br />Councilmanber Al Sorteberg <br />Councilmanber Gary Reimann. <br /> <br />Ci ty Mninistrator Ll~d Schnelle <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />ReFOrter Angela F.lint <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Olairperson Schlueter called the public hearing to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />. CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter noted a letter fran Anoka Mayor Hostetler dated July 18, <br />1985 addressing concerns for those Anoka residents abutting the Oxbow Addition. <br />Chairperson Schlueter read Mayor Hostetler's letter to the audience. <br /> <br />Leonard McLaughlin of M & S Developnent was present and stated that he has no <br />problan with the prOFOsed findings of fact and has not yet seen the proFOsed <br />developnent agreanent. <br /> <br />Ken Richey - 361 Coolidge - IB;Iuired if Ramsey Council would encourage high <br />denisty if it were adjacent to single family residential in the City of Ramsey. <br />Also corrected Mayor Hostetler's letter; the developnent would abut 2 <br />units/acre residential rather than 4 units/acre. <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter stated that the subject area has been zoned high density <br />for some time. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Richey stated that approving the variance would set a precedent in Ramsey <br />and iIXIuired if there are aIW' guidelines in place for approving variances. <br />lER's guidelines of 7-1/2 units has been plea bargained to up to 32 units with <br />restrictions. Mr. Richey stated that variances should not be granted for <br />reasons of profit which would be the case if this variance is approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle noted that the variance request is for side-yard setback and not <br />July 23, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
