.

.

.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a Board
of Adjustment meeting at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota 55303 on June 12, 1979.

Members Present: Mayor Gamec Others Present:
::Councilman Cox
Councilman Mickelson
Councilman Reimann
Councilman Sorteberg

City Admin. Schnelle
City Engineer Raatikka

Chairman Mickelson called the Board of Adjustment to order at 7:37 P.M. and
led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Chairman Mickelson announced the purpose of this meeting is to consider a
request for a variance from Chapter 170.014B of the City Code for Mr. Peter
Seelen, 7224 l54th Lane N.W. to build an accessory building 24' X 36' (864
square feet). According to City Code he is authorized an accessory building
not to exceed 624 square feet.

Mr. Seelen presented signed consent statement from his neighbors.

Councilman Cox asked what he intends to use the building for.

Mr. Seelen replied to store antique cars which he is presently storing out
and paying rent of $90/month and his motor home.

Councilman Cox said Mr. Seelen already has an accessory building.

Mayor Gamec asked if the existing building has a floor.

Mr. Seelen said it is a storage shed 12' X 14' with no floor.

Councilman Cox asked if he plans to remove the 12' X 14' building.

Mr. Seelen replied no, he keeps his riding mower and other lawn equipment
in this building.

Councilman Reimann asked if he has a double garage.

Mr. Seelen replied yes, but the main thing he needs the accessory building
is for parking of his motor home, because of the larger door needed he felt
it would look better to build another building rather than to add to his present
garage.

Mayor Gamec said the building inspector's report states that as far as placemeIlt
of the building, it would not be a problem.

Councilman Mickelson noted that he has signatures from seven different neighbors
in the form of a petition giving their consent to the building.

Mayor Gamec said he could have only one driveway.

-1-
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - 6/12/79
CASE OF PETER SEELEN - ACCESSORY BUILDING
