Grosslein was held on February 26,
1979, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Present: Mayor Gamec
Councilman Reimann
Councilman Mickelson
Councilman Cox

Also Present: City Administrator Schnelle
City Attorney Goodrich
City Engineer Raatikka

Mayor Gamec called the continuation of the Board of Adjustment hearing to order
at 7:14 and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to appoint Councilman
Mickelson as the acting Chairman of the Board of Adjustment.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann and Cox. Voting no
Councilman Mickelson.

Councilman Mickelson read the letter received from the D.N.R. in regards to the
variance request. The D.N.R. stated they were not opposed to the proposed build-
ing but did express a concern for the area residents in regards to the increased
truck traffic and the noise and nuisance levels during construction of the new
. building.

Mayor Gamec read the letter received from the E.Q.B. in regards to the proposed
building by August E. Grosslein. They stated they were not opposed to the build-
ing but also expressed concern for the area in regards to the potential erosion
and pollution generated by a large volume of runoff from the warehouse and parking
lot from the proposed building.

Mayor Gamec read a letter from the Chief of Police.

Mayor Gamec made mention of letters received from citizens in the area affected
by the proposal. They were from: Ruth Gustafson, Roger and Marlys Dickenson,
Merle Anderson, Pricilla O'Rourke, and Roger and Minnie Dickenson.

Mayor Gamec mentioned the letter from the City Engineer in regards to the proposal.

Mr. Bill Dickenson, Jr. stated he couldn't understand the Council's denial of the
dentist and by Bob's Country Super Value and the number of citizens who supported
his request.

Mayor Gamec stated that Dr. Tom Anderson was asking for rezoning of the area he
proposed to build a dental building. Mr. Grosslein does have the proper zoning
for what he proposes to build and all he is asking here is a variance as to the
setbacks. He can build with no approval from the Council on his variance re-
quests as long as he reduces the size of his building.

. Councilman Cox stated the two are totally different items.
