Over this period of time, there have been
three public hearings and the City Council meetings.
At their regular meeting of October 13, 1987, the
City Council again received comments from the peo-
ple present. Following receipt of comments, the
Council took the following actions:
1. Directed staff to prepare a resolution which
would establish a policy whereby 50% of the
cost of utilities, if and when they are extended
to the area, would be borne by the City of
Ramsey for those properties that would be pro-
hibited from subdividing due to airport zoning.
2. Adopted an ordinance which established air-
port safety zoning.
3. Set a tentative time of June, 1988 to hold an
advisory election on the question of whether
the City of Ramsey should own and/or operate
Gateway North Industrial Airport.

RAMSEY RESIDENT CONTENT

AND LIMITATIONS

It has been and will continue to be the policy of
the edit~r of the Ramsey Resident to present facts,
gen~rallnformation and data while avoiding the in-
clUSion of arguments for or against an issue.
However, to fully understand an issue, our readers
should receive the benefit of argument from all sides
of an issue. But this is not to discuss the
political, nor economic, nor environmental issues
embedded in our garbage; this is simply to let the
new members of the community know (and to remind
those of us who have been here a while) where they
can recycle some of their waste products -- most
notably newspapers, scraps metals, car batteries
and motor oil.
