Ramsey residents and Ramsey
businesses will have an opportunity to meet face to
face at the first annual Discover Ramsey Business
Expo. Sponsored by the Ramsey Economic
Development Company (REDC), the business expo
is designed to bring Ramsey residents and Ramsey
businesses, civic organizations and churches
together. At that time, Council did not adopt
the ordinance but rather directed City Staff to
prepare information regarding timing and notice
related to holding an advisory referendum.
At their meeting on September 1, Council moved
to delay scheduling a date for an advisory referen-
dum and requested that the Airport Commission
recommend to City Council the appropriate timing
and/or action relating to the establishment of airport
safety zoning.
The Airport commission met on September 9 and
the consensus was that an advisory referendum at
this time is inappropriate since the complete data on
the acceptability of the airport upgrading and acquisi-
tion is not available, nor recommended at this time.
The Commission recommended the following:
1) The City Council adopt the airport zoning
ordinance;
2) The City Council delay the referendum un-
til the environmental impact assessment
report, relocation plan and preliminary
engineering report/preapplication for AlP
funds are available;
3) If, in Council's estimation, an advisory
referendum is required, it should be held no
earlier than the second quarter of 1988
when the data listed in Item #2 above is
available and the acquisition plan is submit-
ted for approval.
Council will take the Airport Commission's recom-
mendation under consideration at their meeting
scheduled for September 22.

Ramsey Resident
Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

l----- -

ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONER
NATALIE HAAS STEFFEN TO HOST
SEPTEMBER 28 PUBLIC INFORMATION
MEETING TO CLARIFY STATUS AND
PROCEDURES FOR LANDFILL
STUDIES AND PROPOSALS

In response to questions raised by residents of the
City of Ramsey regarding landfill issues, Anoka
County Commissioner Natalie Haas Steffen is
hosting a public information meeting on Monday,
September 28, 1987, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ramsey City
Hall Council Chambers.
