from the Office of the Mayor
This past year has been a very busy
year for the City Council and Staff.
This year as last we had several
public hearings on blacktopping City
streets which were petitioned by the
residents of the areas. We were
happy to see the excellent turn out at
these hearings and get your
comments. All of the projects were
com pleted except for shoulder and
drainage work which will be
Completed in the spring of 1982.
We passed a City Budget which
decreased the mill rate by one and a
third mills. This should help. to hold
your City tax level or give a small
decrease. We will not have to cut
back in any City services because of
State Budget problems and cuts in
State Aid payments.
Weare also in the process of
finishing the lower level of City Hall
with a kitchen and meeting rooms
which are available for organizations'-
and citizens to use for their activities.
This was made possible by a $37,000
HUD Grant.
We have two new companies move
into the City - Altron, Inc. and
Ralph's Country Meats. There was a
major addition built on the Super
Bowl, Inc. and major remodeling to
the DeZiel's Supper Club which is
now known as Jimmy B's AMerican.
These businesses alone will provide
approximately 200 new job
opportunities for people in this area.
I would like to thank the
Community School Advisory
Council, Lions, RY AA, Hockey
Association, Jaycee Women, 4-H, Boy
Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies and all
the citizens of Ramsey who helped
make the Halloween Party and other

City activities so successful this past
year.
I would also like to wish everyone"
in the City of Ramsey a very Happy
Holiday Season.

Thomas G. Gamec, Mayor

Only Three Left
The Jaycee Women of Ramsey have
only three sets of solid wood,
unpainted building blocks. Each set
has over 40 piects of various shapes
and sizes for lots of creative play. The
Achievement Center (Workshop for
Handicapped} in Worthington,
Minnesota produced these blocks,
and all proceeds go back to them. The
price for a set is only $8.00. These
make excellent Christmas gifts for
children of all ages. To order please
call Sharon at 4274262.

Jaycee Women Growing
The Ramsey Jaycee Women
welcome three new members: DeDe
Galindo, Lee Konen and Carolyn
Mikkelson.
