There is a leash law in
Ramsey which states dogs must be leashed
or contained at all times and we are asking
everyones help in adhering to the law. It is
{listurblng to residents as they are not
always sure on how to handle a situation of
a neighbors dog they Just chased out of
their garbage can, dropping "goodies" on
the front lawn, etc. It Is costly for the
homeowner to repair damages from dogs
and It can be a great source of irritation and
bitter feelings between neighbors. Many
residents feel they have "country living" by
moving into the City of Ramsey and by
feeling this way let their dogs run loose.
It may interest everyone to know that a
dog does not have any more rights than a
human being in t.hat the trespass law does
also apply to dogs as well as people. As a
dog owner you are just as responsible for
the whereabouts of your dog as the parent
or guardian is for a child.
Again, weare asking everyones
cooperation in keeping their dogs
contained or leashed at all times as
required In the City Ordinance.
-Thank you,
Ramsey City Council

Ramsey School
Restoration

North Star Federated Women's Club
continues.to work with the Anoka County
Historical Society in its efforts to restore
the Ramsey School as a living museum of
the oldest school in the county.
