Patron AMSEY City Newsletter JUNE 1978 FENCING POLICY The Building Department has received several calls on fencing this spring. In answer to the many who have called and those who are wondering, there are no real strict ordinances on fencing in the residential districts. In residential districts, other than the "U~' districts, fencing other than for decorative purposes shall be restricted to si'de and rear yards. Maximum fencing heights in residential districts shall be six feet except eight feet shall be allowed ~ CITY ELECTION The City has adopted the Votomatic Machine (punch card) system of voting to replace the paper ballot system. The League of Women Voters will be demonstrating the votomatic machines at Bob~s Country Super Valu on August 9, and August 18,1978 from 6 to 10 p.m. and again on October 20 and October 27, 1978 from 6 to 10 p.m. I f at all possible, try to attend one of these demonstrations before you go to the polls to vote. Th is will enable you to become somewhat familiar with the new system before the day of the election. Fences may not be placed where they will impede the vision of vehicular traffic at intersections of streets. Caution must be advised in placing your fence directly on the property line. The person ajoining your property could claim half ownership on the fence. It would be best to move it inside your property about six inches. If you are going to have fencing installed in your yard and have more questions, please call for clarification. Ramsey Jaycees Form Mr. Jeff Johnson, has been meeting at the City Hall in an effort to set up a Ramsey chapter of the Jaycees. Anyone interested in becoming a Jaycee may call Mr. Johnson at 427-4225. NEW ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY The City has hired a new administrative secretary, Arlene' Stafford. Arlene lives in Mounds View at the present time with her husband and three daughters. She has been working at First National Northtown Bank and worked at the City of Mounds View prior to that We welcome Arlene to our staff and hope she will enjoy her new position.
