Patron <br /> <br />AMSEY City Newsletter <br /> <br />JUNE 1978 <br /> <br />FENCING <br />POLICY <br /> <br />The Building Department has received <br />several calls on fencing this spring. In <br />answer to the many who have called and <br />those who are wondering, there are no <br />real strict ordinances on fencing in the <br />residential districts. <br />In residential districts, other than the <br />"U~' districts, fencing other than for <br />decorative purposes shall be restricted to <br />si'de and rear yards. Maximum fencing <br />heights in residential districts shall be six <br />feet except eight feet shall be allowed <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY <br />ELECTION <br /> <br />The City has adopted the Votomatic Machine (punch <br />card) system of voting to replace the paper ballot <br />system. The League of Women Voters will be <br />demonstrating the votomatic machines at Bob~s Country <br />Super Valu on August 9, and August 18,1978 from 6 to <br />10 p.m. and again on October 20 and October 27, 1978 <br />from 6 to 10 p.m. I f at all possible, try to attend one of <br />these demonstrations before you go to the polls to vote. <br />Th is will enable you to become somewhat familiar with <br />the new system before the day of the election. Also, if <br />you are interested in working at the election, please call <br />City Hall for information. 427-1410. <br /> <br /> <br />where neigh boring land asthetic values are <br />not adversely affected. <br />Fences may not be placed where they <br />will impede the vision of vehicular traffic <br />at intersections of streets. Caution must <br />be advised in placing your fence directly <br />on the property line. The person ajoining <br />your property could claim half ownership <br />on the fence. It would be best to move it <br />inside your property about six inches. <br />If you are going to have fencing <br />installed in your yard and have more <br />questions, please call for clarification. <br /> <br />Ramsey <br />Jaycees <br />Form <br /> <br />Mr. Jeff Johnson, has been <br />meeting at the City Hall in an effort <br />to set up a Ramsey chapter of the <br />Jaycees. Anyone interested in <br />becoming a Jaycee may call Mr. <br />Johnson at 427-4225. <br /> <br />NEW ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY <br /> <br />The City has hired a new administrative secretary, Arlene' <br />Stafford. Arlene lives in Mounds View at the present time with <br />her husband and three daughters. She has been working at First <br />National Northtown Bank and worked at the City of Mounds <br />View prior to that We welcome Arlene to our staff and hope she <br />will enjoy her new position. <br /> <br />BURNING <br />PERMITS <br /> <br /> <br />BURNING PERMITS. . .can only be obtained through Mike <br />Haller at 421.9475. Residents are reminded that open burning is <br />against the law. <br />
