IX

NEWSLETTER!!

The Ramsey City Park Board has been checking into the possibility of ob-
taining some trees for planting this spring by our residents. We would
certainly like to replace the trees that have been lost due to Oak Wilt
and Dutch Elm Disease. These trees would be available at cost to the
residents. This is a Bi-Centennia1 year and we are encouraging everyone
to do whatever they can to improve the appearance of the community by
1976. These trees would be available for planting on your boulevards
and in your yards. Also the Park Department has their large tractor for
sale. For more details, please call Mr. Reimann at 421-Sg97. This year
the Park Board is accepting bids on the job of mowing in the City Parks.
Any resident, with the necessary equipment and interested, can contact
the secretary, Mrs. Schneider at 421-5233. We also want to mention that
this spring they are putting toilets in Brookview and Peltzer Parks.

BY NOW MOST RESIDENTS of Ramsey are aware o~ the Super Park planned for
the new school by the Ramsey Lions Club. We have a pamphlet called "Be on the Safe Side"
with suggestions for personal protection, from the Minnesota Crime Watch.
We would like you to have a copy if you can stop in to pick it up. We
can also give you a City Directory at the same time.

We are coming to the time of the year when we must be very careful of
fires. Winds can take a fire out of control very suddenly and this is
expensive for everyone. We have three State Fire Wardens in Ramsey. You
must have a permit before you can burn branches, trash, rubbish, etc.
The Fire Wardens are Wilbur Chapman - 421-5761, Martin Gorham -421-4121,
and Manford Schake - 421-4665.
