FINANCE COMMITTEE
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Mayor Thomas Gamec
Councilmember Carolyn Beahen
Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman

Members Absent:

Councilmember Sheila Beyer
Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen

Also Present:

City Administrator James E. Staff feels that it doesn't make sense to invest significant money in a
system that is obsolete and is not "year 2000 compliant". Before staff can recommend how to
upgrade the current computer software, we need a better understanding of what we currently
have and also what we will need in the next three to five years. Since no one on staff has the
expertise to do this type of analysis, we are requesting authorization to enter into a contract with
CompuCom, a firm recommended by a neighboring city, to conduct an audit of our current

Finance Committee/April 28, 1998
