FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen (arrived at 6:36 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:04 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Attorney Contract <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart announced that the three-year contract with the firm of Randall, Dehn and <br />Goodrich will expire on December 31, 1997. Staff is asking for direction from Council to either <br />prepare proposals for general legal and prosecution services for a minimum three-year contract <br />or to begin negotiating with the current firm for an additional three-year contract. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec felt that having the City Attorney familiar with the City's background is very <br />beneficial. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Mayor Gamec to recommend City Council <br />direct staff to begin negotiating with the firm of Randall, Dehn and Goodrich for an additional <br />three-year contract. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None.
