HNANCE COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Carolyn Beahen Councilmember Sheila Beyer Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: Acting City Administrator Linda Waite Smith Finance Officer Jessie Hart Police Chief David Gustafson Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO ORDER Councilmember Beahen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:02 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Authorize Matching Funding for the Anoka County Central Records Project Finance Officer Hart reported that the City of Ramsey has been a participating party in the Anoka County Central Records Project which was established in an attempt to come up with technology solutions that will allow the entire county access on a central records system. The study was funded by a $50,000 grant that was received by the County and requests a match of $5,000. She explained that Anoka County is requesting all of the jurisdictions participating in the study for a voluntary contribution toward the matching funds. Options were presented, one of which was to allocate the contributions based on the number of calls received by Central Communications. The City of Ramsey represents approximately 4.5% of the calls processed by Central Communications which would result in a voluntary contribution of $225. Ms. Hart suggested that the amount could be funded through the professional services line item of the data processing budget. Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to recommend City Council authorize a contribution of $225 toward the matching funds for the study being Finance Committee/November 25, 1997 Page 1 of 3
