FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 1997, in the Fire <br />Station at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Chairperson Al Pearson <br />Boardmember David Lewandowski <br />Boardmember Jon McLaughlin <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler (ex-officio) <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder (ex-officio) <br /> <br />Members Absent: Boardmember Chris Weiss <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Pearson called the regular meeting of the Fire Board to order at 6:01 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember Lewandowski to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Beyer, Chairperson Pearson and <br />Boardmembers Lewandowski and McLaughlin. Voting No: None. Absent: Boardmember <br />Weiss. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember McLaughlin to approve the <br />Fire Board regular meeting minutes dated February 4, 1997. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Beyer, Chairperson Pearson, <br />Boardmembers McLaughlin and Lewandowski. Voting No: None. Absent: Boardmember <br />Weiss. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Storm Staffing <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler prefaced that most of the issues on the agenda were discussed at the February <br />meeting, but since there was no quorum present, it was felt that more discussion was necessary. <br />The theory behind storm staffing is when the weather could hamper the response time.
