PUBLIC HEARING PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, to consider a request for rezoning from K.C. Land Company. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Commissioner Benjamin Deemer Commissioner Sharon Jensen Commissioner Charles LaDue Commissioner Michael Terry Commissioner Bradley Thorud Members Absent: Commissioner Paul Holland Also Present: City Engineer Steve Jankowski Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik City Attorney William Goodrich Community Development Intern Kirk Skoog CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 8:01 p.m. PRESENTATION Zoning Administrator Frolik indicated that K.C. Land Company is requesting a rezoning of property located north of 153rd Avenue NW and west of Sunfish Lake Boulevard. The property is proposed to be replatted as Alpine Estates and would facilitate the development of single- family, urban lots. The property is approximately 21 acres in size and is in the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. The adjacent parcels to the north are zoned rural residential and the parcel on the south side of 153rd Avenue NW is park. City Attorney Goodrich stated that this issue has come into controversy as it relates to the procedure for adopting the Comprehensive Plan and City Council will make a final decision on that issue on April 8, 1997. The Planning Commission can table this as the City is not in a time frame problem with the 60-day rule, or the Commission can consider this as normal procedure and whatever action they take to recommend approval can it be contingent upon a proper finding on the Comprehensive Plan.
