PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Park. and Recreation Commission conducted an open workshop on Monday, July 12, <br />1993 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Pre~nt: <br /> <br />Chairperson Ron Hetland <br />Commissioner Todd Cook <br />Commissioner Teresa Henri <br />Commissioner Jacki Florentius 7:28 <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner James Go#kin <br />Commissioner Janice Johnson - Excused <br />Commissioner Swokowski - Excused <br /> <br />Also Absent: <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Coordinator Mark Boos - Excused <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />ChairpersonHetland called the regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting to order at 6:07 <br />p.m. with no quorum. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Refer to Case #1. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Cook and approved by consensus to approve the agenda submitted by <br />Mr, Schroccler as presented. <br /> <br />Case #1: Update On County Road 0116 Trailway <br /> <br />Mr. Schrocdor explained that the City has received approval for Federal Funds to extend the <br />trailway from~Anoka High School along County Road #116 to Flintwood Hills through Ramsey <br />Terrace and-uP west and north. The trailway will be a joint venture between the cities of Anoka <br />and Ramsey.' Once responsibilities are established between the cities, the proposal will be <br />submitted once again to MN DOT prior to release of any funds. Funds will not be available until <br />1994 and the project must be completed by September of 1994. <br /> <br />Residents Ken Klosterman, 5805 148th Lane N.W., Mrs. Hawkins and Allan Olk, 5745 148th <br />Lane N.W., alad Damell and Janel Blume of 5860 148th Lane N.W. all expressed concern about <br />the proposed layout of the trailway as it would cut through their properties. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder explained that there are any number of options for the trailway, and for purposes of <br />the grant, the straightest route was used. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued of various routes that the trailway could take to ultimately reach Ramsey <br />Elementary. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/July 12, 1993 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
