The Flintwood Terrace Park
project would entail irrigating the entrance along 142'~d Avenue and around the playground area.
To the north of the playground would be a hexagonal shelter. Another shelter would be placed at
the south side of the "lake" west of the Ponds Subdivision. The total cost for two hexagonal
shelters meeting City specifications, with concrete, installation and tax is approximately $58,000.
The irrigation element with connection to the municipal system would require the remaining
$17,000 of the $75,000 project. Staff was seeking authorization to proceed with designing the
irrigation system and then bringing back quotes for the entire project for spring installation. Staff
also provided the Committee with the annual maintenance costs for each of the projects.

The Committee discussed the location of the shelters and the amenities the shelters provide to the
area.

Finance Committee/October 28, 2003
