PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Thursday, <br />October 1, 1981, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Re~nann <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />Building Official Berg <br />Accountant Jeanne Moen <br /> <br />Me~ers Absent: Councilmember Cox <br /> <br />The special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was called to order at <br />7:34 P.M. by Mayor Gamec. Mayor Gamec led in the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that maybe the meeting should be postponed until <br />such time that all councilmembers could be present. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle - Should discuss Cases 2 and 3 of the special meeting agenda <br />to some degree. <br /> <br />Case tt 2 <br /> <br />Mr. Sclmelle - Regarding elected officials salary increase, the citizens <br />of l~msey must have one year advance notice of the proposed pay raise -- <br />if you do not adopt this recommendation this year, you will have to wait <br />another two years. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec - Any expenses incurred to an elected official regarding city <br />business should be reimbursed, but as far as salary goes, I have no real <br />strong feelings. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann - Some cities pay a base salary plus a set rate for <br />attendance at special meetings. On the other hand, the special meetings <br />are a part of being a councilmember. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec - I do not expect to be paid for attending special meetings -- <br />I show up to represent the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle - As far as extra pay for attending special meetings, there <br />might be problems here with statutes. <br /> <br />C/October 1, 1981 <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
