REGULAR MEETING OF RW~$EY TOWNSHIP PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> May 6, 197~ <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8300 p.m. by' the Chairman, <br />Mr. Reimann at 8:00 p.m. present were Hr. Pitf~aan,.Mr. Sorteberg, <br />Mr. Emmana, Mr. Bodle, Mr. Springer and Mrs' Guy. <br /> <br />The minutes of the l~t stated meeting were read by Mr. Retmann. <br />The minutes as read were accepted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Roger Heine of Rod~ Hills brought two petitions, one about <br />the mining operation going on in Rodeo Hills by Eldon Hall. on <br />Vanadium Street. The ~econd petition concerned the roads, to <br />bring them up to Township standard and then, possibly, :blacktop <br />the roads and assess the cost back to the property owners on a <br />long term basis. All r'esidents signed the petition except for <br />Mr. Hall's sheet rock man and his uncle. The petitions were ac- <br />cepted. Mr. Reimann h~d been out to look over the mining, opera- <br />tion and 'the condition of the roads. <br /> <br />Mark Urista: "We have a swlmmtng pool in our basement.# He lives <br />at l?g&o Uranium St. f,~e culverts are filled .up. Many residents <br />from Rodeo Hills were present with lists of the things.that still <br />are not finished at their homes. These lists were given to Mr. <br />Pittman. Affter May 2Oth, the date of the. next Town B~ard meeting, <br />there will be a public hearing on the matter of the blacktop ping <br />.of the roads in Rodeo Hills or possibly' concrete. <br /> <br />Ed. Renner Well Co,: ~tants a variance to place the building 5 ft. <br />from the west line~ thereby placing the ,building lengthwise across <br />the front which will shield thes~orage of the machinery behind <br />this building f~m the 'street and will enable the~ to drive their <br />well rigs into the garage from the east side. Mr. Sprin~er moved <br />we recommend 'this variance to place this building ~ ft. from the <br />west edge of the prope~y as it is agreeable to Mr. Chapstun, who <br />owns the industrial property abutting it on the' west. Seconded <br />by Mr. Bodle. Motion oarried. <br /> <br />Barnett Builders~ Drip, tie Property on Variolite and .15~th Ave.= <br />DeWayne C. Olson is the consulting engineer. There are .68 lots <br />in 80.2 acres. Mr. F~..cke's letter was discussedlwith Mr. Olson <br />and Mr. Barnett. It was suggested this plat .be redone ~and changes <br />made according to Mr. Fricke's report. <br /> <br />Delmar $chmelzer: Cam~ to; see about having a camp :ground on the <br />south side of the Rum t~Lver west of Highway. No. 7. He wi-ll have <br />to get an O.K. fro~ th~ County along 'the river. The State Health <br />Department requires wells be two feet above flood:level. Ail camp <br />ground sites ~ust be within ~00 feet of the toilets. He' thought <br />they might have 60 camp sites which would be ~OxSO feet each. <br />They were advised to check these plans with the Shoreland Manage- <br />ment office at the Cou~t House in Anoka. The idea seemed good to <br />the Commission at this time. They will bring their plan to the <br />next Board Meeting~ <br /> <br />Eldon Hall~ Sketch plan on plat on Rum River across, from the Town <br />Hall. There will be a short 18 hole go ~f course On the. low area <br /> <br />down by the River. Th,y plan to~n houses on the.Highway at a <br />later date when we have ~ewer and water. There .is an area in <br />the north half that has 60 residential lots. The whole area is <br /> <br /> <br />
