Motion by Councilmember Kurak and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />#03-06-162 authorizing the reorganization of the Community Development Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Pearson, Cook, Strommen <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberElvig. <br /> <br />2) Consider Reorganization of the Public Works Department <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council authorize a reorganization in the <br />Public Works Department by creating an Assistant Public Works Director position, and that <br />Brian Olson be promoted to the position of Assistant Public Works Director. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />#03-06-163 authorizing the reorganization of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Pearson, Strommen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: Councilmember Cook (because he would like to have had more staff <br />discussion). Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />3) Authorization to Hire Associate Planner <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council authorize the hiring of Amy <br />Geisler as an Associate Planner with an annual salary of $42,740, contingent upon satisfactory <br />background and reference checks, an employment physical and drug alcohol screen. All other <br />personnel policies will apply normally. Ms. Geisler would begin employment on or near June <br />25, 2003 and would be subject to a six-month probationary period. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />#03-06-164 authorizing hiring Associate Planner. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Pearson, Cook, Strommen <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />4) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Item was handled at the beginning of the agenda. <br /> <br />5) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Police Sergeant <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt the resolution ending the <br />probationary period for Bradley Paplham and granting the status as a full-time regular Police <br />Sergeant. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />#03-06-165 ending the probationary period for Police Sergeant. <br /> <br />City Council/June 24, 2003 <br />Page 35 of 37 <br /> <br /> <br />
