Absent: Chairperson Cook. <br /> <br />Case//2: DETERMINE PARK DEDICATION FOR THE HUNT ADDITION <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the Hunt Addition was a minor subdivision creating <br />one new lot. He stated that the park dedication was the Rural Rate of $625.00 per new lot. <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the Hunt's have received a copy of this case and <br />understand what is being requested of them regarding park dedication. <br /> <br />Commissioner Skinner asked if the rate was $800.00 per new lot. Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br />explained that the rate of $800.00 is for Urban lots. <br /> <br />Commissioner Asfahl asked what was planned for the Demerest Brook Recreation District. <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the Demerest Brook Recreation District does not have <br />a lot of opportunity for development. Vice Chair Johns clarified that Fox Park is located in the <br />Demerest Brook Recreation District. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Asfahl and seconded by Commissioner Skinner to recommend City Council <br />require $625.00 in park dedication be credited to the Demerest Brook Recreation District. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Chairperson Cook. <br /> <br />Case//3: MISSISSIPPI WEST PARK <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the Mississippi West Park is approximately 273 acres <br />in size. He explained that the park plan has changed very little since the Park and Recreation <br />Commission and City Council last reviewed it in 1993. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the park will be used primarily for passive uses such <br />as a nature area, boat dock, and bike trails. He explained that the County is interested in a swimming <br />beach; however, the person that lives on this land did not like the idea of a swimming beach, so it was <br />temporarily withdrawn from the plan. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that the City was concerned that the frontage road continue <br />along Riverdale Drive, to eliminate the Highway #10 congestion. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that another concern was for a sedimentation pond for <br />storm water located within the park.
