Trott Brook Greenway Corridor <br /> Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br />Maintain and restore the natural communities of the corridor, including wetlands, woodlands, <br />and prairies. <br />Maintain the existing recreation in the corridor, and ensure that recreation is complimentary <br />to the high quality natural resources of the corridor. <br />Protect the Trott Brook basin from unnecessary development pressures so that State residents <br />can recreate and experience functioning natural areas in the future via City sponsored trails <br />and interpretive facilities. <br /> <br />- Result 1: Identify and Coordinate a Local Advisory Committee ($ 6,050) <br /> <br /> For the Trott Brook Corridor to be successfully managed, it is important to solicit the <br /> cooperation and participation of a multitude of key individuals, organizations and agencies. The <br /> strength of this partnership is directly proportional to the strength of the final product. To that <br /> end, a Local Advisory Committee will be established. <br /> <br /> This result will provide for the recruiting and coordination of a group of 20 - 30 individuals <br /> representing all of the main stakeholders within the Trott Brook Corridor, and would meet on a <br /> quarterly basis tt~roughout the duration of the project. The members of the Local Advisory <br /> Committee would include residents, the City of Ramsey, local water management organizations, <br /> the Minnesota Land Trust, and the State of Minnesota natural resource agencies. The group will <br /> work cooperatively to make management decisions and implement the goals of this project. <br /> <br />Personnel: Project Manager (.1 FTE) $ 5,000 <br />Other: Office Supplies $ 350 <br /> Printing, Advertising, Communication $ 700 <br /> <br /> Result 2: Provide Infomnation and Assistance to Landowners ($10,250) <br /> <br />In cooperation with the Minnesota Land Trust and the Local Advisory Committee, the City of <br />Ramsey will identify 30 local landowners that will be key to the successful protection of the <br />Trott Brook Corridor. The landowners will be informed of the goals Of the proposed project and <br />be asked to assist and cooperate, in whatever way they are capable, in the protection and <br />restoration of the natural areas and habitats within the corridor. <br /> <br />Voluntary adtions by private landowners will be supported and encouraged as the pr/mary <br />strategy to protect the Trott Brook Corr/dor. However, information and assistance will also be <br />provided to individuals that are interested in selling land, conservation easements, or <br />development rights to their property. <br /> <br />This result will mitigate future conflicts by ensur/ng that all part/es involved are fully aware of <br />their options and how the choices they make will affect the Trott Brook Corridor, it's natural <br />character, and ecological health.
