DRAFT Parks Capital Improvement Program (September 2002) The following is the narrative portion of the Parks Capital improvements program. This same text may be abbreviated for use in the CIP work sheets. Readers of this document should note that year 2003 will include park projects under construction from the platting process this year. Many of these are partnerships between the Developer and the City - and therefore Park Dedication monies or Trail Fees may not have been contributed to the City's coffers, but directly into new improvements. The primary benefit is thought' to be reduced administration on the City's part, more timely implementation, and in some cases increased project efficiency (and cost), due to economies of scale associated with mUlti-million dollar, Developer funded improvement projects. 2003 #1 .P..la .vequipment and parking area for Woodland Green $60,000 [est.] This project may be substantially complete in the fall of 2002. The Development Agreement for the Highlands at River Pines provides for the above and other park improvements occur in a prioritized manner. g2 Irrigation and Backstop for East half of Solstice $9,000 [est.] With the Platting of Birch Hill Lodges an additional 1-acre was added to the southeast comer of Solstice Park. The Developer is receiving quotes for City approval for the backstop and complete irrigation system. #3.A...~ Lime Infield for Riverdale Park $5,000 The Final Platting of Rivenwick 3rd Addition is likely to result in a' Development Agreement as in the case above wherein certain local park improvements are specified as a Stage 1 improvement. //4 Hexagonal Shelter along the Mississippi River $31,000 This project would also occur in the same manner as the above as part of Rivenwick 3r'( 4/5 Trail Paving from 164th Lane to the Lake Itasca Boardwalk $19,500 32
