Commissioner Olds stated he is seeing pieces of each one of the playground equipment and he
thinks they could incorporate them into one.

The Board discussed the equipment and what they liked on each one.

Consensus of the Commission was to purchase Option A with two changes as highlighted in the
plans. The Commission liked the more natural look of the equipment instead of brightly painted.

Commissioner Olds asked if the intent is to have this installed by next spring.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated they would like to have this installed by October. He
stated the intent of the development agreement is to have some of the costs be absorbed by the
development and also have a parking lot installed.

Motion by Commissioner Johns, seconded by Commissioner Shryock, to purchase Option A with
two Changes as highlighted in the plans, spring rings and four swings. And delete from the
playground equipment proposal the cost of aggregate 'and installation of aggregate and to have
staff confirm that the timber border is not included in the price.

Motion carried. Park dedication will be due for the new lot
created and commercial lots are exempted from Trail Fees. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos
stated this future land use is not expected to cause additional burden on the recreational system
and a trail is in place to the north of this site. At the time of a site plan for the new parcel a
sidewalk or trail along County Road #5 can be addressed. He stated Park Dedication for the new
lot would be $15,413. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos further discussed the information with the
Commission. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos recommended this be removed from the agenda
because some issues have yet to be resolved.

The Commission took no action.

Case #5: Approve Draft Parks CIP 2003

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that each year during the summer, the Park and
Recreation Commission begins the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) process by examination
of the current, five-year plan.
