That work has been
completed and the Space Needs Assessment completed in 1999 for City Hall has been updated to
reflect current space need projections. Bill Baxley of BKV Group presented findings of the
Police Department Space Needs Assessment and the updated City Hall Space Needs Assessment
during the Council work session on May 27th. As a continuation of this work, the next step
would be to develop preliminary building schemes and begin to work with the proposed site
within Ramsey Town Center. BKV Group has prepared a proposal for this work. Staff proposed
utilizing funds from the Council Contingency Fund to continue work on this project with a
request to re-visit this expenditure when discussions regarding the 2003 budget are brought back
to the Council in July.

Mayor Gamec stated that he felt that it was important to proceed with the next phase, but thought
they should determine the size and location of the lot first.

City Council/May 27, 2003
