Ms. Hart stated that the Committee discussed the purchase of four 1995 Ford Crown <br />Victoria squad cars and recommended approval of such purchase. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution 095-01-026 authorizing the purchase of four 1995 Ford Crown Victoria's for <br />Police Squads. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart stated that the Finance Committee discussed and recommended approval of the <br />the purchase of a 2-1/2 Ton Truck Cab and Chassis to replace the 1982, 2-1/2 ton Ford <br />truck currently owned. They also recommended advertising for bids for dump box, snow <br />plow, wing and sander. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution ~95-01-027 authorizing the purchase of one 2-1/2 ton mack cab and chassis and <br />advertise for bids for dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart reported that the Finance Committee had discussed and recommended the <br />purchase of a 3/4 ton 4 x 4 truck with snow plow to replace the 1985 Chevrolet utility <br />mack. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution ~)5-01-028 authorizing the purchase of one 3/4 ton 4 x 4 track with snow <br />plow. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart stated that the Finance Committee discussed and recommended authorizing <br />advertisement for bids for a commercial turf mower with a 12' cutting swath. This <br />purchase would be a new addition to the mowing fleet and is anticipated to provide <br />enhanced maintenance flexibility and extend the life of the existing 6' mowers. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder reminded Council that last July, several members of the public addressed <br />the City Council about the level of park maintenance. As a result, City Council budgeted <br />for this item and also a significant increase for pm-time staff in the parks function. The <br />City is currently advertising to fill this position..We are intending to fill this position in an <br />on-going fashion. Pm-time temporary work for parks will be available in about a month <br />or so. We will work people through the end of the summer season at a pay rate of between <br />$5 and $6.50/hour depending upon qualifications. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution #95-01-029 authorizing the purchase of a commercial tuff mower. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart reported that the Finance Committee discussed the replacement of the drop tank <br />for the new f'n'e tanker. Originally, the Fire Department was planning to utilize the old <br />tank, however, that tank is much heavier and makes the folded size larger than the bracket it <br />was intended to fit on.
