Mayor Hardin agreed that 25% for the Life Cycle goal may be unrealistic but felt we should <br />be saying to the Metropolitan Council that we are willing to work with them. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution g95-12-278 - Metropolitan Livable Communities Housing Goals Agreement <br />and that the goals for the Life-Cycle non-single family be changed to 10% and the <br />owner/renter mix be changed to 75/25. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen, Beyer <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Commission Re-appointments and Vacancies <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart explained that the terms of various commission members expire <br />before the end of the year and there are several recommendations for filling those <br />vacancies. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to re- <br />appoint Judy Marn to the Charter Commission for a term to expire on May 12, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, Beyer <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilrnember Zimmerman to re- <br />appoint Jay Swokowski to the Charter Commission for a term to expire on May 12, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, Beyer <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to direct <br />staff to re-advertise for the vacancies on the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, Beyer <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart explained that the Economic Development Commission was able to interview <br />only one of the candidates, therefore, they are postponing any recommendation to fill their <br />vacancies until the January meeting. She also explained that due to not re-appointing a <br />commissioner on the Park and Recreation Commission, there should be authorization to <br />advertise to fill that. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to direct staff <br />to advertise for the vacancy on the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried: Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Ms. Hart then explained that the terms of Planning Commissioners Terry Hendriksen, Paul <br />Holland and Michael Terry all expire on December 31, 1995. Paul Holland has declined <br />m-appointment which will create a vacancy on the Commission. The Planning <br />Commission has recommended that the City Council re-appoint Mr. Hendriksen and Mr. <br />Terry to a term to expire on December 31, 1997. It was also the desire of the Commission <br />to advertise to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Holland.
