Mayor Gilbertson offered that he and Mr. Jankowski would meet the residents in their <br />neighborhood and look at the condition of the road. <br /> <br />Charles Canesi, 7751 - 166th Avenue N.W., Ramsey, inquired if the City pays for its <br />share of the road maintenance out of the 17¢ it receives from taxes or if the Federal <br />Government gives the City a subsidy, to which Mayor Oilbertson answered that it is done <br />strictly with the 17¢. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to continue <br />this public hearing on April 12, 1994, after the Mayor and the City Engineer have met with <br />the residents and looked over the road together. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Hardin <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing recessed at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #14: <br /> <br />Public Hearing on Improvement Project #94-13; Bituminous <br />Overlay of Whispering Pines Estates Plat 3 <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Ben Moss, 8320 - 157th Avenue N.W., Ramsey, inquired of the amount he would be <br />charged for the project to which Mr. Jankowski replied it would be $490. Mr. Moss stated <br />he is in favor of the project but wasn't sure it was fair that persons with much more street <br />frontage pay the same amount. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski replied that the average amount of trips generated by the household per day <br />does not change according to the amount of street frontage your lot has. <br /> <br />Mr. Moss felt that made no difference. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated the decision to not charge based upon street frontage was a <br />conscious .decision made in 1978. <br /> <br />Ad_iournment <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Hardin <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No; None. <br /> <br />The public hearing adjourned at 8:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #15: Public Hearing on Improvement Project #94-14; Bituminous <br /> Overlay of Sorteberg's Addition <br /> <br />Mayor Cfitbertson called the public heating to order at 8:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Ron Benson, 16045 Xenolith Street N.W., Ramsey, stated that in 1985, when it was first <br />proposed to sealcoat, the road was already bad and should have been overlayed then. He <br />felt the reason the residents "shot down" the improvement the first time is that the road was <br /> the for the entire <br />too bad to just sealcoat.
