Absent: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to recommend that City <br />Council adopt the Findings of Fact, as amended, relating to Barton Sand and Gravel's request for a <br />conditional use permit renewal to continue mining operations. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Holland, <br />Hendriksen, LaDue, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The Planning land Zoning Commission reviewed the terms of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Commissionor Deemer, for the record, referred to Condition #16 and stated he would like to see <br />some trees p/tanted and maintained on the northern boundary of the subject property to screen <br />residents from future use of said property. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik explained that under Condition #16, the applicant cannot commence work any closer <br />than 660 feet iof the northern boundary without a buffer of 6-foot trees and that the trees are not <br />required until 'then. <br /> <br />Commission~ Deemer stated he would like to have the trees planted now and have something <br />growing at the end of three years, when the conditional use permit will be up for renewal. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen inquired of the applicant whether it was a reasonable request to have the <br />trees planted now. <br /> <br />Mr. Sauer stated there was no problem with starting some tree growth now. <br /> <br />Planning & Zoning Commission/2/16/93 <br /> Page 4 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
