(Dan <br /> Karst, Jr.) <br /> <br />IO Zoning Aflministrator Frolik stated that Mr. Dan Karst is requesting a conditional use <br /> permit tO disassemble engines and transmissions and conduct wholesale activities in the <br /> Industrial, District. To accommodate these activities, Mr. Karst has submitted a site plan to <br /> construct !a 12,500 square foot building on Lots 2 and 3, Block 4, Gateway North <br /> Industrial I.park Plat g2. Mr. Karst's proposed operation of Danny's Tranny's on Lots 2 <br /> and 3 consists.of acceptance of discarded engines and transmissions for disassembly. Thc <br /> aluminnm!by-._r r~ ~ ~ .UCts resulting., from thc disassembly operations, will be transported to the <br />Ialununum~ processing facihty on Lot 1. The reusable engine and transmission parts <br />resulting'~ ~fi'om the disassembly process will be wholesaled on the site. Ms. Frolik stated <br />that the Plmming and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on June 1, 1993 <br />regarding 'Mr, Karst's request and Bob Brown of Production Design Products and Jerry <br />I Martin of fhe Ah-So Company submitted verbal comments in opposition to Mr. Karst's <br />request, i'l~he request was tabled for further review. On June 7, 1993, thc Planning and <br />Zoning ~ssion recommended approval of Mr. Karst's request. She stated that Staff <br />I is recomlx~, nding that Mr. Karst maintain an mirlimum balance of $500 to help <br /> escrow <br /> cover administrative costs with regard to thc conditional usc permits, etc. <br /> <br /> Upon inquiry, Mr. Karst stated he has no problem with thc minimum balance escrow <br /> account. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jerry, Mar~.', 14021 Basalt Street N.W., Ramsey stated that at thc last Planning and <br />I Zoning C0~mi~sion meeting he mentioned unannounced inspections and using a check list <br /> to be signoii and dated by the person making the inspection. He stated that if inspections <br /> have bee~ occurring periodically, he is baffled that the business was allowed to reach the <br />I point it ~last December. He felt a checklist would protect everyone.
