owner's premises whether the same be personally used by the owner, <br />the owner's tenant or other occupant of the premises. <br /> <br />Sub& 3. Bflllng Statements <br /> <br />Billing statements for water and sewer charges for the preceding <br />quarterly period shall be mailed to each customer within ten (10) days <br />after the first day of each quarter and shall include the amount due <br />for repairs on meters, fines, penalties or other indebtedness and such <br />statement shall be deemed sufficient notice to the customer of <br />charges made. Said statements shall be due and payable to the City <br />on or before the end of the month in which they are billed. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Delinquent Statements <br /> <br />At the end of ttfirty (30) days from the date of the billing statement all <br />bills not paid shall become delinquent. It shall be the duty of the City <br />to promptly collect delinquent accounts and the City shall notify each <br />delinquent customer or, in case the customer cannot be found, then <br />the person in charge of the premises, of the amount of the bill due. If <br />the same is not paid or if satisfactory arrangements for payment are <br />not made with the City within ten (10) days after such notice, the City <br />shall notify the delinquent customer or the person in charge of the <br />premises that in the case of water, service will be shut off. tn all <br />cases where satisfactory arrangements for payment have not been <br />made within 72 hours thereafter, instructions shall be given to shut <br />off service at the stop box. <br /> <br />SubeL 5. Service Charges <br /> <br />There shall be service charges for turning water on or off at the <br />request of the property owner and for raising or lowering stop box <br />tops to correspond with ground level change made by the property <br />owner. <br /> <br />Any amounts due hereunder for municipal water or sanitary <br />sewer charges plus 10% interest may be collected in an action <br />brought for that purpose in the name of the City; or the Clerk may <br />certify to the County Auditor the amount due for municipal water <br />and sewer charges plus 10% interest, together with the legal <br />description of the premises served and the County Auditor shall <br />thereupon enter such amount within the tax levy on said <br />premises collectible with the taxes for the ensuing year, provided, <br />however, that nothing herein shall change the provisions of this <br />Ordinance with reference to shutting off water for the non- <br />payment of a water bill. <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
