Staff has brought <br />forward a revised sign ordinance that achieves the follo«in« foals: 11 siit~~~lities the changes to <br />eliminate content-based standards for temporary si~rn~l~-~e end make the rep i~io~~s less complicated <br />and cumbersome;_2) makes the temporary signage r~~~ul~liionsul~iform on an iilt~i~im basis, with <br />the greatest flexibility to residents by examining the tee struct~ire; l Provides additional time for <br />the display of temporary signs (currently 6 weela): and ~j .~llloti~s more temporary signs for <br />multi-tenant business. <br />Staff recommends that the Planning Commission recommend that the City Council adopt the <br />proposed Ordinance. <br />Citizen Input <br />There was none. <br />Motion by Chairperson Niat- scccmdcd by Commissioner Van Scoy, to close the public hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Absent: None. <br />The public hearing closed at is ~ ~ p.m. <br />C~nunission Business <br />Chairpe~~son '_~Ti~t called the rc~ular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 7:33 <br />p.m. <br />Commissioner Tritcs Rolf asked if the duration of six weeks per year (with an extension <br />allowed offour weeks) applied to the business or the property. <br />Associate Planner Dalnes stated right now it applies to the business. Staff is proposing the Code <br />be changed to say "per business or per property". <br />Commissioner Van Scoy wondered how they would know how long the signs will be up if there <br />is no permit. <br />-174- <br />
