~5

CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Topic Report: Sunfish Lake Park
By: Mark Riverblood, Parks Supervisor

Background:

The purpose of this topic report is to discuss the proposed park development for the municipally
owned land at Sunfish Lake. The city has a long history of involving residents in neighborhood
park development planning. The work plan for Sunfish Lake Park accordingly, includes several
opportunities for public participation - one of which was the mailing to approximately 700
addresses inviting residents to provide their thoughts at the Park and Recreation Commission
meeting on March 13th, 2008.

The consultants, Brauer and Associates Ltd., the firm engaged to assist the city in this park
planning endeavor; will be available at Work Session to discuss the opportunities presented by
the site and to learn of City Councils thoughts on this project. No concept plans have been
developed, as the public comments - as well as the collaborative nature of the planning process,
is intended to shape the first iterations of any park plans.

Action Statement:

Based upon discussion

Reviewed by:

Parks Supervisor
Director of Public wo'PC1 ~
CIty Administrator

CCWS:

3/18/2008

-9-
