-158-
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter in regards to the sign I saw on Armstrong Blvd and 173r which I
later found out is in relation to yet some more changes the owners are requesting to make
to this property.
I live on Baugh Street (1 am choosing not to give you my exact address or name as my
husband and I do not want to be retaliated against by anyone) and have been here for over
10 years. I have neighbors on both sides of me who have been here for over 15+ years.
The timing of this is unfortunate as 1 of my neighbors is out of town for the winter and
one is out of town just for spring break. Regardless, this sign has gone up only 1 week
before I understand a meeting to take place and I don't feel this gives anyone enough
time to inform all of the neighbors of what is being proposed in relation to this property,
nor did we receive any sort of documentation in the mail regarding these requests.
I have many, many concerns with allowing these changes to be approved. Please keep in
mind many of us moved out to Ramsey on the Northern end to get away from "the city"
and feel it would be wrong in many ways to allow a business such as this to operate in
what used to be a quiet peaceful neighborhood.
Here are some major concerns I have and hopefully you will address and stop this from
getting anymore out of hand than it already has:
1.. There is more traffic going in and out of this place and back to the pole building
at all hours of the night and early in the morning. What type of traffic is going to
be coming and going out of our quiet peaceful street if you allow an industrial
business to move in?
2. We understood the initial "conditional use permit" to be used solely to store
trailers and items that were kept outside so it would actually improve the
appearance of the property. There are more trailers there and outside now than
there ever have been. We would have strongly opposed the first conditional use
permit on the huge addition had we not been assured that there would be checks
on this building to make sure it was only being used for the purpose that the
conditional use permit said it was for.
3. 1 understand from one of the neighbors that there are spray booths inside of this
building. Why would the city not insist that this doesn't happen in a residential
area? This should only be done in an area that is ZONED for industrial
businesses. This is a RESIDENTIAL area. Even if it is up to "code" it still
should absolutely not be allowed to happen in a residential area
4. I also understand from one of the neighbors that there is supposed to be no work
going on there right now until it is decided what is going to happen with this.
You could show up any day of the week during working hours and find many
people working on this. It appears to me as though there is already a business
being run out of there and the owners don't seem to care about continuing to do
whatever they want.
5. Regarding the subdivision. It sounds like from your office that there is an
"apartment" of some sort in the older portion of the pole building and that it is
