Abstain: Mayor Gilbertson. <br /> <br />Case #4: R~commendation from Road and Bridge Committee on Proposed <br /> EXtension of 153rd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson turned the meeting back over to Mayor Gilbertson. <br /> <br />City Enginoer Jat~kowski stated that one of the top priority goals set for City Staff was to pursue <br />the establishrnerlt of 153rd Avenue N.W. as a crosstown alternative. There have been four <br />meetings he, dealing exclusively with this project. There were five separate alternatives that came <br />up as a resu!tiof h~put at these meetings which Mr. Jankowski included for the Council's review. <br />He stated th~[tha'Road and Bridge Committee has recommended that a public hearing be held on <br />the five alte/la~iv~es and Staff is recommending that prior to setting the date for this public heating, <br />an environmet~tal assessment worksheet be prepared and submitted to the DNR for review. <br /> <br />Motion by (2tlUncfilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmennan to direct that an <br />environmental assessment worksheet be prepared and submitted to the Department of Natural <br />Resources fOre, review. A date for the public hearing will be set after the environmental assessment <br />worksheet hiis'be~n reviewed by the DNR. <br /> <br />Motion carried.. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Introduce Ordinance Amending Water and Utilities Section of the <br /> City Code <br /> <br />City Enginegrilankowski stated that the City Council had expressed a desire to examine whether <br />the existing Water .and sewer rates are adequate. These rates are currently limited to being set by <br />ordinance. The primary purpose of an ordinance amendment would be to allow water and sewer <br />rates to be adjOsted periodically by resolution. Upon review of the ordinance, it was determined <br />some verbi~g~ modifications should be made with regard to connecting with City water, <br />prohibiting e/ass oonnections and placing the responsibility for installing and maintaining a lift <br />device for sa~ii, aWsewer systems on the property owner. <br /> <br />Motion by t2oun¢ilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to introduce an <br />ordinance revising Section 4.40 of the Ramsey City Code known as Water and Sewer Utilities. <br /> <br />Motion carried_..
