Based on income measures, the City of Ramsey <br />residents are lower compared to the state and national average. In 2006, median household <br />income in Ramsey was estimated to be $36,200, compared to $54,023 in Minnesota and <br />$48,451 for the nation. However, the unemployment rate for the city in 2006 was 3.1 <br />percent, well below the state average of 4.0 percent and the U.S. average of 4.6 percents. As <br />of 2006, Ramsey had an employed labor force of 13,155 (60 percent), comparable to Anoka <br />County, which had 195,445 (59 percent) and just below the state average of 71.2 percent. <br /> <br />Manufacturing is a primary industry in Ramsey. The City has two major industrial parks <br />with a combined capacity of 320 acres and 25 businesses.
