• Adequate water supply design to provide flow per <br />1306 Building code revision, <br />• Proper emergency vehicle access to all areas <br />o Plan Review: verify conformance to fire code, proper <br />addresses of housing units, etc. <br />o Construction Stage: same visits as <br />commercial /industrial. Follow up as necessary. <br />o Certificate of Occupancy: verify all systems are in place, <br />tested and plan to maintain prior to issuance of CO. <br />Verify the address is on Anoka County's 911 system. <br />Goal #3: (2008 Comprehensive Plan) <br />o As Ramsey moves through the process of <br />revising /creating the new Comp Plan it is critical that <br />proper focus be made on the public safety aspect of the <br />plan. The Fire Chief will be the primary contact, although <br />the Fire Inspector will be involved at a staff level to <br />assure the fire prevention issues within the public safety <br />concerns are addressed. <br />Goal #5 (Transportation) <br />o Public transportation and transportation systems rely <br />on public safety to assure safe movement of our <br />residents, visitors and business staff. The Fire Inspector <br />would be involved from the concept stage to <br />construction to on -going compliance checks to assure <br />the transportation systems are complying with codes <br />and remain as safe as possible. <br />Goal #6 (Life Cycle Housing) <br />o The Fire Inspector involvement is critical in the <br />development and maintaining of different types of <br />housing within the community. Fire Code requirements <br />(including the before mentioned 1306 amendment) are <br />substantially different when comparing single family, <br />multiple family, high density, special needs housing, <br />and senior housing. The Fire Inspector must have a <br />comprehensive knowledge of the different requirements <br />and ability to manage compliance to each type of <br />housing within our community. <br />Also included are the state required daycare <br />inspections.
