He stated that he also recalls that there were
afew options last time, one included putting in City sewer and water since the City was already
there which caused confusion among the residents that this was something the City was trying to
force people into. He stated that he wants to make certain there are enough signatures and
people are aware that this is something that the residents are asking for and not something the
City IS forcing on them.

Mr. Linton stated that he did not bring a copy of the petition, but thinks the signatures were
around 70%.

Councilmember Look asked how many homes on these streets have paved driveways because if
they are unpaved and just track dirt onto a paved street it could cause problems. He asked if the
residents could make a commitment to paving their driveways as part of the project.

Councilmember Elvig stated that this will be included in the discussion on whether it makes
sense to move forward with the project or not. .

Civil Engineer Linton II stated that paving is done to the edge of the right of way line to help
protect the edge of the streets.

Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to receive the petition
and direct staff to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving of 151 st Avenue, 1520d
Avenue, and Fluorine Street and that it be reviewed by the Public Works Committee.

Motion carried.
