If approved, this could extend the timeline for the review period out to May 29, 2009, Following is the remaining projected timeline to complete the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update; Saturday, October 18, 2008,(9 a,m, to 4 p.m.) - community -wide visioning meeting to work on Land Use Plan (see attached). • October 20 -October 31 -consultants draft plan based on Land Use Plan developed by the community. • Thursday, November 6, 2008 -public hearing on Draft Plan. • Tuesday, November 11, 2008 -request to City Council to authorize distribution of draft plan for adjacent communities and agency review. 0 Friday, November 15, 2008 -May 29, 2009 -adjacent communities and agency review period/informal Met Council review, of draft plan. • After adjacent communities and agency review -Met Council formal review of draft plan and acceptance of draft plan. * After Met Council acceptance -request to City Council to adopt 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update. • After adoption of final plan - possible community visioning process to rework Land Use Plan and discussion of major amendment request to Met Council. Recommendation: Staff recommends approving the enclosed resolution that would direct the City Administrator to submit an application, no later than November 1, 2008, to the Metropolitan Council, requesting an extension to the six (6) month review period to May 29, 2009. Funding Source: The processing of this resolution is considered part of City Staff s regular duties..
