Case #14: Report form Public Works Committee 1) Consider Entering into Traffic Control Signal Agreement No. 79972M with MnDOT for T.H. #47 STP Project (Improvement Project #98-14) Councilmember Zimmerman explained the Public Works Committee met on April 18, 2000, and recommended adoption of a resolution authorizing entering into Signal Agreement 79972M. City Engineer Jankowski explained the agreement defines responsibilities for the signals along T.H. #47 at the intersection with County Road #5, 149th Avenue, and 153rd Avenue. The agreement is consistent with current inter agency policies for the maintenance of such signals. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to adopt Resolution #00-04-106 Entering into Traffic Control Signal Agreement No. 79972M with Minnesota Department of Transportation Relative to the.T.H. #47 STP Project (Improvement Project #98-14). Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, Anderson, and I-Iendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: None. 2) Consider Entering into Joint Powers Agreement with MnDOT for T.H. #47 STP Project (Improvement Project #98-14) Councilmember Zimmerman explained the Public Works Committee met on April 18, 2000, and recommended adoption of a resolution authorizing entering into Agreement 79736. City Engineer Jankowski stated this agreement provides for the payment to the City by the State of an amount not to exceed $500,000 as their share of the construction dollars for the T.H. #47 STP project. The agreement also commits the City to exercise control of fight-of-access on the east side of the highway between Xkimo and 142nd Avenue which is consistent with what was negotiated with the State. Also, the City cannot award the contract until this agreement is entered into without jeopardizing the $500,000. Motion by Councilmember Zimrnerman and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to adopt Resolution #00-04-107 authorizing the City to enter into Agreement No. 79736 with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation Relative to the Trunk Highway #47 STP Project (Improvement Project #98-14). Further discussion: Councilmember Anderson asked if the City will be providing access. Councilmember Zimmerman stated the City will be responsible for providing access. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: None.
