I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br />I <br /> i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />i <br /> <br />3) Update on I49th Avenue Storm Sewer Project (Improvement Project #00-23) <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated the Public Works Committee met on April I8, 2000, to <br />address the resident complaints about soggy lawns and recommended that plans and <br />specifications be directed to cure the flooding problem. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated staff has looked at several options to address the two problems <br />and identified that Option B would cure the flooding problem and also empty the wetland system <br />to the 150~ Lane lawn elevation within 17 hours following a 100 year storm event. He advised <br />this may not prevent all flooding but will greatly improve the current situation. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Anderson to direct the <br />preparation of plans and specifications utilizing Option B. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: MayOr Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Anderson, <br />Connolly, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />4) Award Contract to Richard Knutson, Inc. for the T.H. #47 STP Project <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated the Public Works Committee met on April 18, 2000, and <br />recommended award of the T.H. #47 STP project to Richard Knutson, Inc. in the amount of <br />$4,288,321.34. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated this firm is the low bid and the project is ready to award. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to adopt <br />Resolution #00-04-108 Receiving Bids and Awarding Contract for Improvement Project #98-14 <br />(T,H. #47 STP Project). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Connolly, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #15: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorize Hiring of Finance TIF Specialist <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated the Personnel Committee met earlier tonight and <br />recommended the Council authorize hiring Sean Sullivan as the TYF Specialist, contingent upon <br />successful completion of background investigations of driving record and criminal history, <br />reference checks, and a physical examination, subject to a six month probation, at an annual <br />salary of $37,3 I5.
