Associate Planner Gladhill stated there is very limited time to make comments and asked her to
email any comments as soon as possible in order to allow staff time to provide her comments to
the City Council before its special meeting later this month.

Ms. Sitz stated there were a number of people who expressed a desire for more passive parks.
She added there also does not appear to be anything in the plan related to safety on the trails
between competing uses. She stated she will submit written comments to staff.

Ron Hunt, 17455 Nowthen Boulevard, expressed his appreciation for all the work done by the
City and staff on the plan.

Gary Van Scoy, 5851 14ih Lane NW, requested clarification regarding the current zoning for the
St. Katharine Drexel church site.

Associate Planner Gladhill stated St. Katharine Drexel Church presented a site plan application
to the City and requested being connected to MUSA; that application was approved by City
Council. He stated the reason this designation was not shown on the map was per Met Council
instruction to show only the portion that is being plotted for the church to allow the City to do
this administratively versus through a Comprehensive Plan amendment.

Mr. Zaetsch stated there have been discussions in the past about the flexibility on the Town
Center numbers, and asked if there is an understanding or a requirement by the Met Council that
if the number changes, whether this has to be absorbed somewhere else.

Community Development Director Miller explained that the Town Center represents an adopted
plan and if any changes are made in the Town Center, it would require a Comprehensive Plan
amendment.

Mr. Carlson stated the Met Council would accept as few as 13,200 household numbers so there is
some capacity in the numbers currently contained in the plan.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Levine, to close the public hearing.

Motion carried.
