Chairperson Nixt directed staff to work with the applicant regarding proper screening, hours of
operation, and quantities of raw materials and finished goods allowed on the site. He stated he is
more concerned about the issue of stockpiling materials and possible Code violations, and
requested staff use reasonable judgment to determine what is appropriate in this case. He added
the objective with respect to hours of operation is to put some time constraints in place so there is
a pattern to the hours of operation and the noise does not become intrusive.

Community Development Director Miller stated staff will work with the Fire Department and
Building Official to come up with something.

Motion carried. He explained that given
the fact that the request for an overage of accessory structure space is related to a home
occupation, staff recommends denial of the request for a conditional use permit. He further
explained that the applicant is now willing to remove one of the buildings on the property, so for
the next nine months, the applicant would be allowed to have additional square footage based on
an interim use permit. He then presented revised Resolutions adopting Findings of Fact and
approving the issuance of an interim use permit to exceed the total amount of accessory structure
square footage.

Citizen Input

Dan McFarland, 9110 178th Lane NW, appeared before the Planning Commission and asked if
the interim use permit is granted whether it allows the applicant to do whatever they want with
future buildings.

Planning CommissionlNovember 6, 2008
