Case #8: Approve Classification and Sale of Tax Forfeit Land <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski stated that the City had been notified by Anoka County that six parcels within the <br />City's corporate limits may be sold as tax forfeit. Minnesota Statutes allows cities to acquire tax <br />forfeit land for anticipated public use. He stated that he has reviewed the subject parcels and <br />recommends that Parcel A (Flintwood Hills - 2nd Outlot J), Parcel C (Flintwood Hills - 2nd Outlot <br />L) and Parcel D (River's Bend Outlot A) be offered for sale. That Parcel B (Flintwood Hills - 2nd <br />Outlot O) and Parcel E (Rodeo Hills Estates Outlot A) be withheld from sale following further <br />investigation for possible use by the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich that Parcels A, C and <br />D be recommended for sale, that Parcel B be withheld from the sale pending further investigation <br />and to check with the Park and Recreation Commission to see if they would want to obtain Parcel <br />E for a tot lot. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Cich, Beyer and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case //9: <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance Adopting Minnesota State Fire <br />"Property Identification Numbers, Commercial, <br />and Public" <br /> <br />Code Section 10.208 <br />Residential, Private <br /> <br />Fire Chief Dave Griffin was present and stated the the subject ordinance was introduced by the <br />City Council on February 12, 1991 and that it is now being presented for formal adoption. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adopt Ordinance ~ 1- <br />3 adopting Minnesota State Fire Code Section 10.208 "Property Identification Numbers, <br />Commercial, Residential, Private and Public", by the addition of Section 8.02 to the City Code, <br />which section is entitled "Property Identification Numbers". <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Cich, Beyer and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Authorization to Purchase Pumper for Fire Department and <br /> Recommendation for Appointment to the Fire Board <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that one additional pumper was funded in the amount of $40,000.00 in the <br />1991 budget. The purchase of this pumper is essential for mutual aid support from the <br />surrounding Anoka County and Elk River Fire Departments. Chief Griffin requested that City <br />Council grant purchase authority to the Finance Officer and himself to allow them to make a <br />purchase decision. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich that the Fire Chief be <br />allowed to spend the amount budgeted for 1991 budget for the purchase of a pumper truck not to <br />exceed $40,000.00. The Finance Officer may authorize the purchase. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Cich, Beyer and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that the Fire Board had met briefly before this City Council <br />meeting to make a recommendation regarding their choice for a citizen to be appointed to the Fire <br />Board.
