<br />Councilmember McGlone suggested that the process be for services that are for exclusive, <br />ongoing, contracts only. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson suggested that it be ongoing, annual contracts. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated that for certain services, it might be beneficial to have the same <br />, company or person in place, even ifthey are not the lowest bidder. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated that this gives the City the opportunity to know that there are other <br />options out there. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey asked staff to make a recommendation on some of these services that require <br />bids. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he agreed and asked staff to put together a list of the <br />perpetual, annual contracts and what is being paid. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that staff would also bring back a policy document about <br />reviewing professional services and when they will be reviewed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that he would also like to see. what other cities are doing for <br />professional services. He stated that he does not think it should be reviewed every year. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Commission Volunteer Appreciation Dinner <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that there is a Commission Volunteer Appreciation Dinner scheduled for <br />April 20, 2009 at the Fountains and noted that $4,500 has been budgeted for the event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked how much the Christmas event cost. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that it was about $1,600 or $1,700. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that there was a question on entertainment and asked the Council to think <br />of ideas. <br /> <br />Town Hall Meetings <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that he would like to begin holding Town Hall meetings at least once a <br />month. He stated that he would like to advertise it in the newsletter to give people a more <br />relaxed atmosphere to bring up ideas so they do not have to stand before the microphone and be <br />on T.V. to share their opinions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if the City has interface with the web site that would allow people <br />to make comments or post concerns. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session IJanuary 6,2009 <br />Page 13 of 16 <br />
