The following words and terms when used in this Chapter shall have <br />the tollowing uleanings unless the conte~ clearly states othenvise: . <br /> <br />Antenna .,.. . Monopole - A tower consisting of a single pole, <br />constructed wiithout guyed wires and anchors. <br /> <br />Conn:nunicatioll Tower, Lattice or Self-Support - A tower that has three (3) or <br />tour (4) sides of open-framed steel supports. <br /> <br />Height of a Communication Antenna or Tower - The height of a freestatlding <br />communication antenna or tower is detenni11ed as the distance ti'0l11 ground level to the highe.st <br />point on the tower, incltJding the antenna. <br /> <br />Height of a Roof or. Wan Mounted Antenua or Tower - The height ofa <br />commuilicatiori antenna. that is mounted on a roof or wan shall be measured il"om the point where <br />the base of the antenna and its supporting structure appends to the roof or wall to the highest <br />point of the supporting structure, including the antenna. <br /> <br />9.15.02 Pm'pose, In order to accommodate the communication needs of residents and <br />business while protecting the pbblic health, safety, and general welfare of the community, the <br />Council finds that these regulations are necessary in order to: <br /> <br />a. facilitate tbe provision of wireless telecommunication services to the <br />residetlts and businesses of the City; <br /> <br />b. minimize adverse visual effects' of towers through careful desigl1 and Siti11g <br />standards; <br /> <br />-39- <br />
